CartGenie v5.0+: ProdInfo.asp Page - Adding Additional Images and Information

Applies To:
CartGenie v5.0+

Summary:
There are a number of ways that you can add more information and images to the Product page that eliminate the need to create a completely separate page.  First, the most common way of adding information is to use the Description field in the Product Manager.  However, if you want to add more details then you can also use the following options.

*NOTE: Some solutions listed below may not be available within the CartGenie Standard or Professional editions

Solution

  1. Feature Manager – The Feature Manager allows you to add bullets below the Product Description.  Click the Feature button at the bottom of the Product Manager to open the Feature Manager.
  2. Image Manager - You can also add additional images to a product by using the Image Manager.  Navigate to the product, click Image Manager, populate the fields in the Image Manager window and click Add/Update.  When you enter additional images, links to the images are displayed to the right of the main product image under a section titled More Images.
  3. Specifications Manager - You can add detailed product specifications by using the Specification Manager.  Navigate to your product.  Click the Attribute Mgr button at the bottom of the screen and create your attributes and click Add/Update.  Click the Spec Mgr button at the bottom of the Product Manager screen and add your product details.  Click Add/Update.  Your specifications will be displayed below the features for the product.
  4. Comparison Manager -  Once you’ve added specifications, you can also enable the product comparison engine which will allow users to compare up to three products side by side.
    * You can also change the word ‘Specifications’ that is displayed to whatever text you want to (for example, you could change it to ‘Product Information’, etc.) by editing the quoted text for that label in the PageConfig.asp page.
Product comparison engine - Once you’ve added specifications, you can also enable the product comparison engine which will allow shoppers to compare up to three products side by side.  To enable the comparison engine just open the Product Manager, click the Compare Mgr button in the bottom left, choose the Category that has the comparisons, and then set the Display to Yes for each Sub-Category that includes products that will be compared.
  5. Custom Pages - You can also add your own custom pages with additional images.
  6. Custom HTML Tags - refer to the following article, http://kb.jstreettech.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50026.aspx for adding HTML to your product descriptions.
