CartGenie v4.0+: How do I set-up Google Adwords Conversion Tracking with my Web...

Summary:

1. Open your web browser and login to your Google Adwords account that you have previously set-up with Google and select Conversion Tracking to begin the process. Follow the instructions provided by Google and when asked what type of conversion tracking select "Purchase/Sale" (CartGenie only has built-in support for Purchase/Sale). When asked if the page will be running over a secure connection (i.e. "https") select "Yes".

2. At the end of the set-up process Google will tell you to paste Javascript code into your Web site. FTP into your CartGenie site and download the file located within the wwwroot/CartGenie directory called "tracking_google_purchase.js".

3. Open the "tracking_google_purchase.js" file with an HTML editor.

4. Go back to your web browser and select/copy the Javascript code that was generated by Google and paste it into the "tracking_google_purchase.js" file that you opened with your HTML editor. After saving your changes be sure to save the "tracking_google_purchase.js" file and FTP the file back to your site within the wwwroot/CartGenie directory.

Now, when someone clicks through from Google Adwords and buys something on your site you will be able to track the information via the Adwords control panel.
